Today Zoku sent 8 students to compete at the Japan Shotokan Karate England Open Championships. For some it was their first ever championship and nerves were running high. We were entering a variety of the kata groups and one student also entering the freestyle (Kumite).
All students performed amazingly with focus, determination and great sportsmanship. They put huge amounts of practice and dedication into their karate over the last few weeks, with many of them learning new kata, just for the competition. Everyone was supportive of each other throughout and they made a fantastic team, representing the association.
We did have four results:
Skyrah: 2nd Place (Kata)
Michael: 3rd Place (Kumite)
Samuel: 3rd Place (Kata)
Amber: 2nd Place (Kata)
